In December of 2009 a winter freeze caused a break in the water pipe running over the ceiling of our finished garage. When the thaw came the ice in the pipe broke free, flooding the garage and soaking the insulation and drywall in the ceiling and walls. What a mess! We were very thankful to have insurance that covered this kind of incident.

 

After cleaning up and drying out, we began taking bids to restore the garage to its original condition. We finally selected Westside Home Improvement and General Contractors, owned and operated by Danny Trikich. His bid for the work was in line with the others, but Danny displayed an enthusiasm for the job and suggestions to make the restoration better than the original. The other contractors did not bring this display of interest to the table. While the other contractors would be bringing in other subcontractors to do the labor, Danny was actually going to be involved in all the work except for the electrical repairs, which he arranged, and the plumbing repairs, which we arranged.

 

Danny displays the attributes that are extremely important to us when needing work done that is beyond our amateur ability – knowledge, timeliness, and craftsmanship.

 

• · Knowledge: Danny clearly knows home construction techniques. He identified a lack of ceiling ventilation that had been lacking in the original construction and that the other bidders only considered after I mentioned it. During the project, Danny would notify me of oddities in the fit of windows/doors and wall corners and provide suggestions for overcoming any obstacles.

• · Timeliness: Danny was very prompt in the bidding process and when the work actually began he never failed to be at the job when he said he would be. He typically called each day before arriving and also let us know at the end of each day when he was leaving, telling us what had been done and what was to be done next. Also, the worksite was always left clean at end of the day.

• · Craftsmanship: As stated above, we liked the fact that Danny would be “hands on”.  Danny and his partner, Frank, gave us a garage that looked better than the original. The walls and ceiling look as good as most rooms inside our house. He created “furniture quality” access panels for our new water shutoff valve and a drain pipe from the upper-level porch. The trim work around the windows and doors looks so much better than before

 

We must say we are very happy that we chose Danny for the project and would highly recommend him to anyone else needing home repairs or remodeling! In fact, we are already discussing our next project to replace porch railing and hope he is available when the time comes.

We have had the privilege of using Westside HIGC for several projects. Each time the guys showed up on time, gave me the most reasonable bid, and were professional and friendly. Danny gave me the bid and was there to do the work himself, as well.

The guys from Westside remodeled our kitchen and offered great design ideas, installed bamboo floors in our kitchen and family room, repaired several "Ooops" from around our house and installed electrical, insulation, dry wall and texture in my husband's new outdoor office. All work done was top notch and well priced. They were also so much fun to have around. Danny and crew were so kid and dog friendly it was a true joy to have them in our home. I couldn't recommend these guys more highly.
We have worked with quite a few contractors over the years and we are so pleased to have finally found our "contractors for life".

There is no doubt in my mind that Danny Trikich of Westside HIGC is one of the best home contractors out there; he is a friendly, upstanding guy with integrity, reasonable prices and an outstanding work ethic.

He replaced all the windows in my home and also the entire front wall, including the framing, siding, and interior finishes. He calls and says when he is coming and comes! He did an excellent job, including cleaning up each day. He definately knows what he is doing and does it right the first time.

I wouldn't dream of using anybody else on home improvement work.

You'd be lucky to have Danny working on your home!

Great job! on our broken water pipe and flooded den and garage. It looks better than new.

Danny brought new life to our backyard by adding a beautiful and functional porch. It blends perfectly with our house and looks like it was part of the original architecture.
